Irish Blood Transfusion ServiceFor Science Week 2011, the entire 4th Year class, along with the 5th and 6th Year Biology students were visited by a member of the Blood Bank (or Irish Blood Transfusion Service) who gave a presentation on blood donations. She went through all the various details regarding blood transfusions, such as blood types, health of the donor, suitable ages and allowed the students to watch a DVD of the criteria.

Unfortunately for the 4th Years, they had taken part in a sponsored sleepover in the school the previous night and had difficulty keeping awake. However, the presentation continued brilliantly and ended with a Q&A session.
