The 2nd Years started work on their CBA (Classroom Based Assessment) in Business classes in late February and are now working on their Science CBA. Since September, the Science, Business and English teachers have been working very closely together on the Step Up Project to closely plan the 2nd Year CBAs in these three subjects. Stratford is one of the pilot schools for this Step Up project.

According to Ms Brouder, the 2nd Year's Business teacher, students have to develop a product or service of their choice based on ideas they saw from their recent visit to the Science Gallery. They have four weeks to outline their product design, how to promote it, how to price it and where to sell it.

Ms O'Sullivan, their Science teacher, students have to design and conduct their own science investigation. This means that they must gather data and write a report.

All 2nd Year students have their own mobile devices, i.e. tablets and laptops, and are using them to research and create their CBAs.
