On Wednesday the 4th of September, 2nd year students went on an educational walking tour to learn about the poets, people and writers that had connections to our local area. We followed a walking map designed by the English Department.
Alec from 2X read a Yeats poem outside his old school The High School, Sagi talked about the history of Herzog Park, Petya talked about the site of the old Mother and Baby home Bethany House, and Jacob and Shay talked about the War Memorial Hall in Terenure. We were even invited to enter the shul to learn more about Jewish history in Dublin, with an informative talk by Emmet. We are now going to take inspiration from some of these places of interest to create our own scripts, and stage some site-specific plays!
Thank you to Ms Maccaba, Ms Caspi, Mr Eppel and Ms Talbot for coming with us.
