On the eighth of May 2024, the First Years went on a trip to the Rathmines library to learn about its history and preview a selection of novels and books for Wellbeing Week.

We learned about how the library was potentially one of the first children’s libraries in Europe, being built in 1913. We went with Ms. Wieder, Ms. Talbot, and Ms. Bachar. The library was presented as not only just a place with books, but a social space where everyone is welcome to stay for as long as they want, admiring the professional architecture and bustling roads.

After the trip, we headed to the Swan Centre to get some refreshments and snacks before coming back to the school. It was a great day due to the sunny and warm weather, and everyone came back to school with big smiles on their faces. It was lots of fun and we all hope to go again soon. Thanks again to Ms. McGill, Ms. Talbot, Ms. Wieder and Ms. Bachar for organizing the trip.
