1st Year History students busy preparing Stone Age and Bronze Age projects

Ms. Kenny explains the active learning methodologies that 1st year students are learning as part of their Stone Age and Bronze Age projects, presented to the class at the end of November.

Stone Age tools1st Year History Projects: Stone Age and Bronze Age Settlement and Life

Students have been divided into groups to work on a mine craft presentation; model making of a Bronze Age settlement; PowerPoint presentation of key aspects of life such as housing; food; entertainment; religion and burial customs; archaeological evidence etc ; poster presentation of material.

A number of key skills are being embedded such as working with others; managing information and critical thinking; IT; verbal and written communication as well as public speaking when presenting the project to the class; self-directed learning; autonomy in learning etc.

Stratford reach the 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals in RDS for the first time

Congratulations to 1st Year Computer Studies students - Yair, Liam and Giorgi - who made it to the ECO-UNESCO 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals held on 12th May with their Scratch coding project called "Giorgi the Litter Fighter". This is the first time that a Stratford project has made it to the finals - so very impressive work!
