Stratford College were awarded a top prize at the National Creative School's Competition in The Ark on Tuesday, 31st May. They won the award for an advertising video they created as part of their 2nd Year English Media Studies module.

Stratford College has won a top award at this year's National Creative School's Competition 2016, hosted by the Association for Creativity and Arts in Education. The award was presented to our second year students on Tuesday, May 31st, by Sile Seoighe, at the Ark Cultural Centre, in Temple Bar, Dublin. The students were highly commended for their TV advertisements.

They worked in groups throughout the project: creating the product, writing a script, desiging a storyboard, then they needed to decide who would act, film and edit their own ads. At end of the process, each student presented their work to Jake Walsh, the Managing Director of Screen Scene. Their oral presentations had to explain to Mr Walsh, the inspiration behind their ads and what they had learnt from the process. This a key example of collaborative learning that the new Junior Cycle recommends.
