3rd Year, TY, 5th and 6th Year Visit W5 Science Exhibition in Belfast

W5: Race carsW5: Science WeekW5: Science WeekOur trip to the W5 science exhibition in Belfast took place on Wednesday, 10th November. It was an early start leaving the school at 7:00. We were split up into groups. We took part in a stop-motion workshop, where we created short films using plasticine and action figures. This was followed by a building module, where we were given thirty minutes to design cars using k’nex and toy motors, with races at the end. The exhibit that stood out most for me was the gyro briefcase - you experience firsthand the forces of inertia and momentum. Whilst  holding it, your arms get pulled in unexpected directions.
