On Friday, 22nd October Ms Brouder and the TY Business class visited AIB in Rathgar to be interviewed for the Build A Bank competition. Greg Brenner and Laura Kelly write in detail about this involves and who was selected from the class to represent Stratford College.

A.I.B Build a Bank gives students a chance to set up a bank within their own school. It is entered initially into a regional competition where a winner is sent to a national competition. Each Build a Bank team comes up with their own theme for their bank. The team’s goal is to open up/manage student bank accounts. They aim to promote banking within the school and giving back to the community.

On Friday the 22nd of October the 4th years went to A.I.B in Rathgar for an interview with members of the bank and the student officer. We were interviewed one by one and were greeted with muffins and doughnuts while being given riddles to figure out while we waited to be called on.
We got an insight into the interview process and gained valuable life skills. The six representatives that were picked to open up our school bank in Stratford College are Melanjia Cvetic (Bank manager), Ross Smith (Assistant bank manager), Alan Farrell (Finance manager), David Kelly (Marketing Manager), Brooke Feldman (Customer Service Representative) and Jack Mc Avinue (Digital Officer).
