NEWS / 5 December 2023

The TY's competed in the SciFest@Schools competition on Monday, 4th December showcasing their coding projects. From AI chatbots to saving the fishes, this year's coding projects (all through Scratch) showed how creative the TYs were with the variety of projects on show.

Two external judges - Brian Gillespie from TU Dublin (Grangegorman campus) and Hugo Rowsome, SciFest Project Manager - judged all of the groups. Posters were on display, design process logs dissected and of course demonstrations of the coding projects.

The winners were:

  • 1st prize: Sonny and Liam
  • 2nd prize: Kaydi, Blaithnaid and Amelie
  • 3rd prize: Aaron, Tomer and Johny

Next step - SciFest@College in TU Dublin (Blanchardstown campus) next May! Well done to every single group who put in a lot of effort over the past few months. Thanks to Ms Donohoe who came in to check out the projects.
