NEWS / 4 May 2023

Four TY teams competed in the SciFest@College competition hosted by TU Dublin (Blanchardstown) on Wednesday, 3rd May. Well done to Rachel, Jamie and Caoimhe who won two awards for their coding project called "Hidden Disabilities" - 1st in the  Intermediate Technology category and a Regeneron special award for Life Sciences!

All four teams started working on their coding projects in September using Scratch. A panel of two judges (lecturers in TU Dublin) interviewed each team at least once; in some cases some of the teams saw six judges.

  • Tree Clicker - Finn, Stephen and Esmail
  • Fog of War - Devlin, Sean and Emily
  • Yummy Minds - Miruna, Kishaylin and Adam
  • Hidden Disabilities - Rachel, Caoimhe and Jamie

Not only did they code the projects by themselves, but they also designed the look and feel of the game, along with a poster outlining the design process.

Well done each of you!

Ms O'Kelly
