On Wednesday, 29th March the TY students performed the play by Sean Dunne - "I've to Mind Her" to the 1st Years. They were also examined on their performance as part of their drama module. TY student Ruth Aharon describes the experience.

We were all excited at the opportunity to put on a play for the 1st Years. The play that was chosen was called "I've to Mind Her" by Sean Dunne. It is about a young boy who was struggling with his relationship with his mum, she was in need of care and he wasn't able to provide for her.

The class was split into three groups to take three different sections of the play. This meant that everybody had a role and lines to say. When we first started practising it was difficult for us. The majority of the class had little to no experience with drama and we were all out of our comfort zone with this module. As the weeks went on we became more familiar and confident with the play. By the final rehearsal we were all ready and excited to perform our play to the examiner and the 1st Years.

Overall we enjoyed this experience and became more comfortable with the stage. Thanks to Ms. Reynolds who suggested this play and helped us prepare for the exam. Watch an excerpt from the play on our YouTube channel!
