TY Mini-Companies set up for business

There are four TY Mini-Companies this year. The Managing Director's (MDs) of each company explain what their business is about - Jonathan Sweeney, Katie McCrea, Gabi Eppel and Dylan Ivers.

XBox Tournament, 2011-2012XBox Tournament, 2011-2012

XBox Tournament, 2011-2012, is offering students in Stratford College the opportunity to take part in tournaments at lunchtime to win great prizes. Entry into each competition costs €3. Three competitions are planned to run during the year. The first will be FIFA 2012 which starts in November. The second will be Modern Warfare in December and finally a vintage game tournament in February.

The competition will run from 1.10 - 1.40 at lunchtimes and the matches are five minutes each. For more information, talk to us: Jonathan Sweeney (Managing Director), Sean McGuinness, Elan Bondi, Paul Ingoldsby, Hugh Cannon and Toms Spruds.

Table tennis tournamentTable Tennis Competition

The Yo! Ping Pong Ltd. TY mini-company are organising an Table Tennis competition during week beginning 21st November. Anyone can enter for €2.50. All teachers have to enter. It will be a knockout competition and there will be prizes for the winner and runner-up. Refreshements will be available from the Candy Corner Trip (also the same company). In early 2012, the company plan to hold a quiz and a raffle. Captured in Time - Stratford College Yearbook

Stratford CollegeThe TY company, Captured in Time, are producing a Stratford College Yearbook. The Yearbook will capture the memories of Stratford College in the recent past, as well as capturing current events. On the 2nd December, they are organising class photos throughout the school. These photos will be a great momento to have. Included in the Yearbook will be polls, pictures of school events, advertisements and an autographs page. Battle of the Bands 2011Battle of the Bands

The TY company who organise the annual Battle of the Bands competition are currently in the planning stage. A final date has not been set yet, but the event will be held in early March 2012. Stratford wins in annual Ides of March Quiz

Hugh congratulations to Stratford College Classics students who came 2nd and 3rd in the annual Ides of March Quiz in Blackrock College on Tuesday 28th April. Students from schools all over Dublin and further afield participated. Stratford scored an Olympian 41/46 to take second place and 40/46 to take third place.  Thank you to Ms. Donohoe and Ms McGill for coordinating this great event.

Appointment of Delia Donohoe to Permanent Deputy Principal

Appointment of Delia Donohoe to Permanent Deputy Principal

Delia Donohoe has been appointed as Permanent Deputy Principal of Stratford College, following her tenure as Acting Deputy Principal since August 2023. This milestone marks her 21st year as a dedicated member of the Stratford community, where she has made a lasting contribution both in the classroom and in leadership.

Speaking about her appointment Chair of the Board of Management Ms. Aoife Cassidy said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Delia as Deputy Principal; she has been a leader and teacher at Stratford College for more than 20 years. During this time, she has served in an acting capacity as Deputy Principal, including over the last three years. She has strong leadership skills and an unwavering commitment and dedication to our school community. We have every confidence that she will continue to lead with the same energy, warmth and dedication in the years ahead. We are delighted to formally confirm Delia’s appointment and wish her every success in the role going forward.
