In Computer Studies classes during Tech Week (18th - 22nd April) and at our Coderdojo@lunch club on Tuesday's, students had great fun exploring the Virtual Reality world afforded by Google Cardboard, while playing celery sticks and oranges to make music through a Makey, Makey!

Students got a chance to install the free Google Cardboard app on their iPhone, mount it in the Google Cardboard viewer and to explore a Virtual Reality (VR) world. There was lot of 'oohs' and 'aahs' and 'wows' in Computer Studies classes and at our Coderdojo@lunch club on Tuesday's. Students also practiced coding on Scratch and on the Hour of Code website.

Meanwhile students also got to set up a Makey, Makey to celery sticks and manderine oranges which was linked to the Makey, Makey piano game. More interestingly the 2nd Years and TYs made a complete circuit by holding hands ... and still the music played!

Over by the Raspberry Pi's students could make it burp when two wires were touching. This was done with Python code which manipulated two GPIO (General Purpose Input Output) pins.

Around the school a series of Tech Week posters were displayed showing technologies such as ink pens, a radiator, a stapler and hole puncher. Technology is not always digital!
