NEWS / 26 September 2023

Since the start of the new school year, many new subjects such as Climate Action and Sustainable Development as well as Drama, Film and Theatre Studies will be taught in schools during the next few years to come, as it will be on the new Leaving Cert course.

Stratford has given us the opportunity to test out one of these new subjects, which is Drama, Film and Theatre Studies.

This subject has been a very interesting one to learn as you learn theory and practical skills such as communicating thoughts and ideas to an audience, responding to stimuli as well as understanding social and cultural influences.

In these pictures shown down below (change position if needed), we have performed mini-performances created based on looking at different stimuli. From quotes to songs, each performance was performed differently and to its own interpretation of the stimuli.

It was fun directing and performing our performances as we have learnt new skills that we have not learnt before such as writing a performance as well as trying out a subject that we have not experienced to its full potential. Even though Drama pushes you out of your comfort zone sometimes, its a subject that everyone can do!

Many thanks to Ms. Visocchi for teaching and guiding us when doing Drama.

Kishaylin Reddy (5th Year)
