In early December, Stratford announced that it had chosen to use Office 365 for Education as it's choice of Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The next step is training teachers to use this VLE and to set up ePortfolios (also known as digital portfolios) for their classes and for students. Training starts in January 2016.

In January 2016, teachers from Stratford will begin training on the new VLE, Office 365 for Education, which includes the functionality to set up ePortfolios. Later in the month training will begin, with the help of the NCCA, on integrating ePortfolios to enhance teaching and learning.

According to the NCCA, "this continued association with schools will allow further investigation and insights into how key skills, formative assessment practices and collaborative environments can be facilitated through digital portfolios. This next phase will also be connected with a wider European project (eportfolio.eu), running from 2016, which has the notion of collaboration as its central focus."

By attending this NCCA-led course, Stratford College will be:

  • One of the leading schools in the adoption of ePortfolios
  • Part of a national and international community of practice
  • Embedding the use of ICT as a lever for enhancing teaching, learning and assessment
  • Participating in professional development workshops
