Speech and DramaThe drama class have had a very busy, energetic and productive term! The highlight of this term was Feis Maitiu. Feis Maitiu is an annual Speech and Drama festival that is held at The Mill Theatre, Dundrum and attracts entrants from all over the country.

We entered four competitions this year. We had one group in the under 14 Group improvisation category and one group in the under 16 Group improvisation category. In this competition, each group is called back stage, given a title and have 5 minutes to come up with an improvisation. Quite a daunting task, that requires a lot of quick thinking, great team work and as little arguing as possible! Both groups did very well, producing their best work to date, with the under 16s claiming 3rd place in their competition. We also entered two duologue competitions in the under 18 category. Ciara Harrison (5th Year) and Joy Malone (5th Year) gave a very sensitive and mature performance of the challenging The Children's Hour piece and Ryan Baker (2nd Year) and Cormac Kelly (2nd Year) brought the house down with their farcical piece Skungpoomery, claiming 3rd prize. Well done to everyone who took part in all competitions and special thanks to the students who came along to support us and cheer us on!
