Stratford College teachers and students will be using Office 365 Education apps and services as of December 2015 to share notes and to collaborate on project work through the use of OneDrive, OneNote and email. Students will be set up with their own school email address. Students will also have their digital portfolio set up through Office 365 Education.
When students and teachers log in they will have access to an intranet (private, internal website) where notes, homework, videos and class-related resources will be stored. While every teacher and student has a Stratford login, they will each have 1 terabyte (1000 gigabytes) of storage on OneDrive. In addition, teachers and students have access to MS-Office online applications while they are associated with Stratford College. It means that teachers and students have access to resources whether in school or at home due to Office 365 Education cloud-based services.
Stratford is working with the Microsoft Education partner, 365Learning, to set up this Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Training is planned as the next step in this strategic investment for 21st Century teaching and learning. Upgrading our VLE is part of Stratford's e-learning strategy. In the past two years Stratford has upgraded its computer lab (August 2015), installed a school-wide wifi system (August 2013) and rolled out a Bring Your Own Tablet (BYOT) system (April 2014).
