Despite Hurricane Ophelia. Maths Week (18th - 20th October) was celebrated in class, during form time and around the school. EU Code Week (also the same week) was celebrated in an "unplugged" manner - no computers needed!
Stratford celebrated Maths Week (18th - 20th October). It's aim is for students to develop a more positive attitude towards maths and to demonstrate to students that maths is not just found in a maths lesson in school but rather that maths is all around us!
On the Maths notice board were Sudoku puzzles for students to try - they were pinned up and students are welcome to take one. Also there was a sheet for students to write down where they come across maths (numeracy) in other subjects.
Class tutors told their classes about sudokus, maths in subjects worksheet and a maths challenge on the Maths notice board. Anyone that completes them, may get a merit!
Also, during the 2nd class on Friday TY held a Maths Puzzles Escape Room Challenge. Keep an eye out for maths quotes and jokes on the walls!

"It's not that I am smart, it is just that I stay with problems for longer"
