On Tuesday, 13th December two external judges came to visit the TY Computer Studies class as part of the SciFest@Schools competition. There were seven groups each with their own Scratch project. Brian Gillespie (Lecturer in Computer Studies, DIT Kevin Street) and Sheila Porter (CEO of SciFest) were the two judges.

The TYs had to have three components for their entry: a Scratch program, a poster outlining the Computational Thinking process of their project and a design log. They then presented their program to the judges. Well done to everyone as technical projects can be very difficult. The judges deemed Eoin, James, Sam and Bogdan as the 1st Prize winners, with Ana, Megan and Cath in 2nd place and Molly, Grace and Anna as highly commended. The 1st and 2nd placed groups will go on to represent Stratford at the SciFest@College competition in the IT Blanchardstown next May.

Mr. Fennell brought his 3rd year class in to look at the work that they too will be doing next year.

Thanks to our two external judges, Brian and Sheila, for giving their time.
