Minister Eamon Ryan TD attending Stratford's Annual Awards Ceremony

Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications & Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan TD will be attending Stratford's Annual Awards Ceremony on Friday, 28th October.

Stratford's sustainable goals and activities include:

  • Green Schools committee over the past 15 years have completed Green Flags for Litter & Waste, Energy, Water, Marine Waste and Travel. Green Schools are currently working on our Biodiversity Flag.
  • Stratford replaced the existing boilers with two new gas condenser boilers as part of summer works 2022.Stratford Schools are two of the 170 schools approved for the Safe Route to Schools Route programme in 2021.
  • Stratford College is the 9th best performer (out of 356 schools) with energy saving efficiency according to the SEAI Annual Report 2020.
  • Stratford is a holder of the Global Passport - our students are encouraged to be active citizens in addressing global issues such as climate change, poverty and more.
  • LED lights - all Stratford's lighting was replaced with LED's in 2019.

Stratford reach the 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals in RDS for the first time

Congratulations to 1st Year Computer Studies students - Yair, Liam and Giorgi - who made it to the ECO-UNESCO 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals held on 12th May with their Scratch coding project called "Giorgi the Litter Fighter". This is the first time that a Stratford project has made it to the finals - so very impressive work!
