The Maths Department worked hard to have a variety of activities during Maths Week (20th - 22nd October) - from tessellations to a maths trail, to TY tutor lessons and Mangahigh. A busy week!

The students had the opportunity to mix art with maths and design tessellations inspired by M.C. Escher. TY students planned a fun maths trail for 1st and 2nd year students which tested their mental maths ability as well as their speed! Other activities included Maths tutor time lessons taught by TY students as well as Mangahigh

TY Tutor Lessons
"We had to prepare three classes that were each roughly five minutes long. We decided that on Wednesday we were going to kick start the classes with multiplication of fractions. Their participation level was great, and overall I think they benefited from this just as much as we benefited from learning how to teach."
