Manga High craze during Maths Week

The Maths Department organised Maths Week events centred around Mangahigh and daily puzzles from Monday 12th to Friday 16th October. Competition was extremely keen amongst the classes. In addition to Maths Week it was also EU Code Week. Students from 1st year to 5th year practiced coding during their IT classes.

Mangahigh.com! Maths classes during Maths week were primarily focused on getting the highest score in the many maths games that are included in Manga High. In addition to Manga High there was a daily maths puzzle distributed at form time. Well done to all the winners:

Puzzle Competition

Junior winners: Violeta (1st Year), Melanija (2nd Year), Victoria (3rd Year), Ana J. (3rd Year), Megan (3rd year). A prize winner was picked out of the above winners - well done to Victoria (3rd Year) who won a €15 cinema voucher.

Senior winner: Nicole Lawlor (6th Year) who also won a €15 cinema voucher.

Overall school winner: Srijan Singh (1st Year)

 

It was also EU Code Week and students from 1st Year to 5th Year practiced coding on a number of websites, including Silent Teacher and Angry Bird (from the Hour of Code website ... which we'll also participate in, in early December).

Appointment of Delia Donohoe to Permanent Deputy Principal

Delia Donohoe has been appointed as Permanent Deputy Principal of Stratford College, following her tenure as Acting Deputy Principal since August 2023. This milestone marks her 21st year as a dedicated member of the Stratford community, where she has made a lasting contribution both in the classroom and in leadership.

Speaking about her appointment Chair of the Board of Management Ms. Aoife Cassidy said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Delia as Deputy Principal; she has been a leader and teacher at Stratford College for more than 20 years. During this time, she has served in an acting capacity as Deputy Principal, including over the last three years. She has strong leadership skills and an unwavering commitment and dedication to our school community. We have every confidence that she will continue to lead with the same energy, warmth and dedication in the years ahead. We are delighted to formally confirm Delia’s appointment and wish her every success in the role going forward.
