NEWS / 28 October 2016

Currently the 1st Years are in the middle of reading lots of books raising money for the MS-Readathon and the school library. 2nd Years and TY students have been entered into the inaugural Great Reads Award. Students read the selected books and rate them. The school with the highest number of ratings forms will win a prize.

Every year Stratford College supports the MS-Readathon. This year 1st Years have all been asked to get sponsored to read books in aid of MS-Ireland - 10% of what is raised overall by the students will go towards the school library. The MS-Readathon started on 7th October and finishes on 7th November.

In addition, the School Librarians of Ireland (SLARI), have set up the inaugural "Great Reads Award". There are 4 Junior books and 4 Senior books. 2nd Year and TY students have been entered into this program. Students read at least one of the books and rate the book. The school with the most ratings returned to SLARI will win a prize ... and it is the students who decide which is the best book!
