NEWS / 18 December 2014

Every Friday throughout November and early December a group of local residents were taught by TY students how to use the web to email, to send photographs and to phone their friends. Jennifer Fehily, TY, writes of her experience and some of those who attended the course write their thoughts.

On Friday, 12th December all those students who attended the Log on to Learn course received their certificates of completion from Ms. Finnegan. Read some of the comments from those who attended the course.

"Log on to Learning is a great experience and its something new. It's so much fun teaching the elderly people how to use computers. They are all very friendly." Jennifer Fehily, TY

"We have found the experience very useful for developing our personal confidence using the keyboard, using the mouse and opening and closing email and google programmes. Jennifer has created a good learning environment for us, she has endless patience and never loses her cool.  Gertie and I wish to thank Stratford, the teachers and the College for giving us the opportunity to improve our digital skills." Best wishes Padraig and Gertie

"Thank you so much to the Staff (Linda and Patricia) and the lovely ‘bunch’ of students for putting on this course. Evan was just a wonderful person and so patient." Many thanks again, Joan

"Had dabbled a little on the computer but never really knew what I was doing!!! The students were great – I feel much more confident about the computer!" Thank you all so much, Barbara

"Many thanks for a very enjoyable course, Log on to Learn. I really enjoyed it: learning to send emails, also learning to send photos from your camera. Also many thanks to Edward for all his hard work." Regards Lelli. PS Looking forward to the next one.

"Very friendly and helpful environment. Enjoyed the sessions greatly but sadly unable to attend all of them." John. Happy Xmas and Chanukkah to all!!

"I want to say how much I enjoyed the computer course. My teacher ‘Kate’ was very patient and kind to me. She is very patient – she will make a great teacher or whatever profession she chooses. I learned a great array of skills." Nuala
