Jewish Studies workshop on the “eruv chazerot”

Eruv chazerot workshop Mrs. Walsh
NEWS / 14 November 2012

Junior Certificate Jewish Studies students undertook a workshop on Tuesday, 6th November on the "eruv chazerot". Jessica Nelkin, 3rd Year, explains it clearly in her homework.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year Jewish Studies students participated in a workshop led by Mrs. Norah Tillman on the "eruv chazerot", a legal mechanism concerning Sabbath observance. By marking appropriate boundaries and gateways, one is allowed to carry items in public areas on the Sabbath. This gave us an opportunity for a good hands-on effort, constructing models.  (Click on blog title to see more photos.)
