Maths Week kicked off in Stratford College on Monday, 14th October with Drop Everything and Measure at form time. Throughout the week there were puzzles in the Library, including "Guess-the-number-of-Maltesers-in-the-jar" (221!) and of course Manga High - online maths games. On Thursday the whole school enjoyed the tremendous Maths Quiz, followed by Friday's LEGO car challenge in each Maths class. Well done to Ms. O'Sullivan, Mr. Clancy and Mr. O'hAlmhain, and to all the Maths teachers and students who participated in the activities. See the 2013-2014 Gallery for lots more photos of the quiz and the LEGO car challenge.
"The best thing about Maths Week was the quiz on Thursday. Some of the questions really made you think outside the box. I also liked it when we were put in groups to make a car out of LEGO. We were under a time limit and it was great fun and quite funny". Megan Harnett (3rd Year)
"I thought that the most enjoyable thing in Maths Week was the LEGO car making challenge. I didn't even know I was learning Maths!" Grace O'Dwyer (2nd Year)
"The best thing was Manga High. I haven't been on it for ages." Rebecca Hewson (3rd Year)
"I thoroughly enjoyed making cars from LEGO, trying to make them so they would travel the furthest." Michael Lawlor Rojas (6th Year)
