NEWS / 10 September 2021

A big thank you to Ms Gordon, Ms Finnegan and all the staff at Stratford College for their warm welcome into this amazing school.

My name is Ciarán Fadden and I am delighted to let students know that I will be running the football program in Stratford College. We will be participating in 'B' Cups for smaller schools and also in league competitions.

I am currently a UEFA C licence 'candidate' with over 14 years football coaching experience at DDSL level (Dublin & District Schoolboys League) with St John Bosco FC and also in my own football coaching club 'Emerald Soccer'. I have also recently started a position as small sided games analyst at Shelbourne Academy FC while also working as a territorial scout for Samoa Football Federation. I believe this is a great opportunity for students and staff alike to show off our many talents in national football competitions.

I will be setting up a boys and girls football team for the Junior and Senior side of the school with the idea to further the students' football knowledge through our practices and to develop them both on and off the pitch. I will be having a player-centred approach where I will develop the person before the player as I believe this is pivotal in all sports, particularly football. I will try to provide an energetic, enthusiastic and positive style of coaching which will hopefully rub off on the students and in turn have a positive impact on our matches and results.

All students are welcome to join no matter what football experience they have, we will always have a place in our squad. Also if you play another sport, do not forget the massive benefits of playing multi-sports in your teenage years.

If parents, students or staff see me at training or in the school do not hesitate to approach me with any questions or queries you may have as good communication will be pivotal in enhancing our football and sporting culture in the school.

Look forward to seeing you guys on the pitch.

Yours in sport

Ciarán Fadden
