On Saturday, 21st March, 15 Classical Studies students from Stratford College participated in a Classics workshop in Trinity College.

The workshop was open to 40 Junior Certificate students across the country. We were very lucky to have attained 15 places. Students from 2nd and 3rd year attended the event.

There were workshops in Roman Comedy, Greek and Latin, Roman coins and more on the day. Experts from the Classics Department in Trinity facilitated the workshops and it was an entertaining day for us all.

Ms. Donohoe, while Mr. Stewart attended on the day.

On Saturday 21st March, I attended a Classics workshop in Trinity College along with several other second and third years. There were three different sections to the workshop, Roman coins, Greek and Latin and Roman comedy. I enjoyed the Roman coins section the most as we got to hold actual coins and identify what was on them. I also enjoyed learning the Greek alphabet and seeing pictures of recreations of Roman theatre masks. We also got to write our names in both Latin and Greek. The day was made even more enjoyable by spot prizes and a table of refreshments.
