Venue: Mount Anville

‘Beware of Stratford College’
Congratulations to the 16 students from Stratford College who participated in the annual Ides of March Classical Studies quiz. This year 27 teams took part in the quiz with students representing a number of secondary schools from Dublin, Mullingar Drogheda and further afield. The quiz comprised of ten rounds with six questions each. Questions are based on all of the topics on both the Junior and Leaving Certificate syllabus. Each school covers 5/10 topics at Junior Cert and 4/10 topics at Leaving Cert.

We entered four teams and all teams came in the top ten. There could only be one winner on the night and this year Fortuna was shining down on us. Stratford College won first place with a remarkable 55/60. Well done to you all.

Our team captained by Oscar McHale (3rd Year) took the top prize on the night. Along with Oscar, the winning team was comprised of Rory Murphy (TY), Alice Murphy (6th year) and Rachel Jones (6th year). To have a brother and sister on the winning team and two girls made it extra special.

It was such a joy to see so many of you enthusiastic, passionate and enjoying yourselves at a Classical Studies event.
A note of congratulations to Oscar McHale and Moya Richarson McCrea who won the Junior Certificate spot prize on the night.

Thanks to all of you who attended:
Michael Lawlor Rojas (6th Year), Rory O’ Neill (6th Year), Sean McGuinness (6th Year), Jonathan Sweeney (6th Year)
Hannah Kearns (5th Year), Ethan Arnold Brady (5th Year)
Moya Richarson McCrea (3rd Year), Evan Matthews (3rd Year)
Ryan Baker (2nd Year), Alannah O’ Byrne (2nd Year)
