Silver Gaisce2019 Stratford College Dublin 6
NEWS / 8 November 2019

Congratulations to Adam in 6th Year who was awarded his Silver Gaisce award on Thursday, 7th November. He was one of 148 young people from all over Ireland who received their Silver Award in the O'Reilly Theatre, Dublin 1.

They were celebrated for their commitment to personal development through community involvement, improving their personal skills and increasing their physical activity. Each awardee successfully completed at least 26 weeks across these three Gaisce challenge areas and undertook a 3-day adventure journey. For their adventure journey, Silver Awardees completed either a 50km walk or a 190km cycle.

Adam explains:

"Last year when I was in 5th year I signed up to do The Silver Gaisce Award. For this I had to do 26 weeks of community involvement, personal skills, physical recreation and an adventure journey over 3 days and 2 nights.

After completing the Silver Gaisce Award there was a Silver Award Ceremony on the 7th November at O’Reilly Theatre in Belvedere College. The Ceremony was MC’d by Spin 103.8 DJs Graham and Nathan and the awards were presented by the CEO of Gaisce, Yvonne McKenna.

Overall it was a great experience to take part in, which is why I am going to take part in the Gold Gaisce Award. I would highly recommend for everyone to take part in the Gaisce Award."
