NEWS / 12 November 2013

Alice Murphy (6th Year) describes the importance of hearing Ronan Fanning's argument that the Irish War of Independence and the partition of Ireland was inevitable on Wednesday, 6th November.

Ronan Fanning - Fatal PathOn Wednesday, 6th November, Ms. Kenny and a number of 6th Year History students attended a lecture given by the emminent historian Ronan Fanning in Alexandra College. Mr. Fanning presented the argument that the Irish War of Independence 1919-21 was inevitable, as was the partition of Ireland.

It was brilliant revision for the Leaving Cert. history topic 'Sovereignty and Partition' and I think that I speak for us all when I say that we can't wait to peruse his latest publication "Fatal Path" in the Library.
