6th Year English students teach their own class about aspects of Hamlet

NEWS / 22 March 2012

Each 6th Year student gave a presentation on an aspect of Hamlet as part of their revision. View Lucy Murphy's presentation on "Hamlet: Theme of Corruption".

As part of our revision of, 'Hamlet', each sixth year student gave a presentation on an aspect of the play ranging from the theme of revenge to the language and imagery in the play. This student as teacher model really focuses their attention and ensures a thorough revision: if they can teach it is a clear demonstration of their understanding and retention. Well done to all my sixth years who provided such professional presentations!

Peer teaching has many advantages. It is fun and students enjoy taking on the role of teacher. It prompts students to think about their own understanding of a topic and how they can help their peers understand. It encourages students to take more responsibility for their learning. In addition, it helps learners develop skills in communicating, information processing and working with others.
