6th Year Art student, Hugh Cannon, describes the day spent visiting the two galleries on Wednesday, 26th March.

On Wednesday, 26th March, we visited the Hugh Lane Gallery and the National Gallery. The highlights were the Francis Bacon exhibition and the displays of Impressionists work. We learned about Hugh Lane himself, as well as the building itself. At one point in its history the Hugh Lane collection ended up in the Tate Museum. An intern in the 1960s went in and found them in the vaults. This opened a big debate about where they should be kept. (Click on blog title for more photos.)
