Sarah O'Neill (6th Year) describes her experience of seeing the Dublin Contemporary 2011 International Art Exhibition
On Thursday, 22nd September, the Art students of 5th and 6th year attended the Dublin Contemporary Art Exhibition in Earlsfort Terrace. The title and theme of Dublin Contemporary 2011 was Terrible Beauty - Art, Crisis, Change & The Office of Non-Compliance. Taken from William Butler Yeats' famous poem "Easter, 1916".
We were brought on a guided tour of the exhibition which investigated the expression of colour through each piece of art. Maser, who previously studied at Stratford College was presenting his work at the exhibtion. We really enjoyed that the artists invited the viewer to become part of the artwork. We were exposed to new experimental ideas in art. I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition and would encourage anyone even if they aren't interested in art to visit it. As is tradition at this time of year, the annual rounders game took place between our outgoing 6th Years and Teachers. Despite great efforts by our 6th years and some fabulous play, Teachers came out victorious. Fair play to all who played in this game.

Stratford celebrated Wellbeing Week 2026 (5th - 8th May), a special week dedicated to promoting positive mental health, physical activity and cultural awareness. Students had the opportunity to take part in a variety of fun and engaging activities throughout the week, including walks, workshops, cultural events, sports, and wellbeing challenges.
