On Monday, 16th May, Ms. Kenny and a representative group of 2nd Year CSPE students attended an awards ceremony in the Oireachtas Members Restaurant where they were presented with an award for their Flag Week video.

On the 16th of May nine students and Ms Kenny travelled to Leinster House to have lunch and receive a scholarship for the project we had done on behalf of the Thomas F. Meagher Foundation.  During Flag Week the second year students were given a C.S.P.E action project, to sell badges on behalf of the Thomas F. Meagher Foundation and to get to know our community which we did by way of our Seachtain na Gaeilge concert. We then created a video and sent it to the foundation. Two weeks later we received a reply, out of the 350 schools who entered we were one of the seven finalists.

At Leinster House we were given a certificate and we had a lovely lunch. After lunch we went on a tour of Leinster House which was engaging and we saw some TDs along the way too. I think we can all agree it was a wonderful experience and we learnt a lot about our Flag and our country. Read the earlier blogs on the work that the 2nd Year CSPE class undertook to get this prize.
