2015 Carnegie Medal Nominee: Brian Conaghan’s top 10 controversial books for Young Adults

Mr. Conaghan has been nominated for the 2015 Carnegie Medal and the 2015 CBI Book of the Year Award for his books "When Mr. Dog Bites". He listed his top 10 controversial books for Young Adults in The Guardian on Thursday, 16th April. How many of have you read?

Mr. Conaghan has been nominated for the prestigious 2015 Carnegie Medal and the 2015 Childrens Books Ireland (CBI) Book of the Year Awards, for his book "When Mr. Dog Bites". On Thursday, 16th April his list of his top 10 controversial books for Young Adults was published in The Guardian.

Number 2 on his list is "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton. This is on the Junior Certificate English course so everyone who has read this book or who is reading it, should look at Mr. Conaghan's review of it and sense the energy of this book.

Congratulations to 1st Year Computer Studies students - Yair, Liam and Giorgi - who made it to the ECO-UNESCO 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals held on 12th May with their Scratch coding project called "Giorgi the Litter Fighter".
