Congratulations to Bogdan Kuzmanovic (2012) who received a UCD Entrance Scholar Award in the O'Reilly Hall on Wednesday, 14th November 2012. UCD Entrance Scholars are first year students who have achieved 540 points or more in their Leaving Certificate. These awards recognise exceptional students when they join UCD.

Well done to our students and teachers of the Class of 2012 - 16% achieved 500+ points while 63% overall gained 300+ points. In particular, we congratulate Ailbhe MacMahon who gained 595 points in her Leaving Certificate.
The Transition Year Irish class won a 2012 Clobeo award for their Irish film, "An Loitiméireacht", which they wrote, acted, filmed and edited themselves. Watch "An Loitiméireacht" on the Clobeo.ie website.

Congratulations to Katie McCrea (TY) who came 1st in the Under 16 Classical competition and to Leanna Morgan (2nd Year) who came 3rd in the Under 16 Vocal competition at the Newpark Music Festival on Sunday, 13th May 2012. Katie was invited to sing at the Prizewinners Concert on the 19th May.

A big congratulations to Diarmaid Kelly (TY) who has been selected to represent Ireland in the International competition of the European Youth Parliament (EYP). It has yet to be announced when and where in Europe this competition will take place. Diarmaid faced stiff competition to make it through to the finals and is one of only sixteen people to have been selected from several hundred taking part in regional finals over the past few months. Well done! [March 2012]

Diarmaid Kelly (TY) reached the Finals of the 2011 National Poetry Aloud competition held in the National Library on Friday, 9th December. He recited the chosed poem, "His Eyes Were Empty" by Rita Ann Higgins.
