Stratford’s entry listed as ‘some of our other favourites’ for World Book Day Award 2016

Congratulations to the TY Library prefects 2015-2016 - Lara McGuinness, Julia Tatar Concado, Gina Cohen, Cormac Kelly and Ryan Baker. Their video entry for the World Book Day Award 2016 was listed in 'some of our other favourites', announced on World Book Day, 3rd March 2016. This competition was open to all primary and secondary schools in the UK and Ireland. Stratford College was the only Irish school to make the final list of winning entries. The theme was 'where does your reading take you?'

Green Schools awarded second Green Flag for Energy

On Tuesday, 19th May 2015 Stratford College Green Schools were awarded a second Green Flag for Energy at The Helix in Dublin City University. Green Schools worked really hard to prepare for an inspection at the end of March and the Energy Flag is the fruits of their work. Well done to everyone involved in Green Schools and the whole school community at large.

Junior students placed 1st and 2nd in U14 - U16 Improvisation competitions at Feis Maitiu 2015

Congratulations to the U14 group of Stratford students who came 2nd in the Improvisation competition at Feis Maitiu 2015 on Tuesday, 5th May. The next day the U16 group of Stratford students came 1st in the U16 Improvisation competition.

2nd Year student placed 2nd in her class, Newpark Music Festival 2015

Well done to 2nd Year student Ana Jovanovic who came 2nd in the U16 Vocal competition at the Newpark Music Festival on Wednesday, 29th April 2015. Well done to all the Stratford students who participated in the competition and to Ms. Conlon who prepared them.

1st Year Students win Social Media Award in the Dublin City Finals Student Enterprise Awards 2015

Congratulations to a group of 1st Year Business Students were awarded the Social Media Award at the Dublin City Finals Student Enterprise Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 12th March 2015. They were presented with the award by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD.

Stratford College Classics students excel in the annual ‘Ides of March’ Inter-Schools Table Quiz

On Tuesday, 10th March 2015, four teams of four students entered the Annual 'Ides of March' Quiz organised by the Classical Association of Ireland Teachers. Well done to Ryan Baker (3rd Year), Hannah Kearns (6th Year), Oscar McHale (TY) and Rory Murphy (5th Year) whose team were joint first for the last three rounds. At the end of the Quiz, Stratford College and Gonzaga College were joint first. Gonzaga College were deemed the winners based on their answer to the tie-breaker question. All of Stratford's teams were in the top ten.

Alice Murphy (2014) receives UCD Entrance Scholar Award

Congratulations to Alice Murphy (2014) who received a UCD Entrance Scholar Award in the O'Reilly Hall on Thursday, 13th November 2014. UCD Entrance Scholars are first year students who have achieved 540 points or more in their Leaving Certificate. These awards recognise exceptional students when they join UCD.

Drama Faces
Award / 28 May 2014

Stratford placed third in two competitions at Feis Maitiu, 2014

Feis Maitiu is an annual Speech and Drama festival that is held in mid-May at The Mill Theatre, Dundrum and attracts entrants from all over the country.  Stratford College were placed 3rd in the Under 16 Group Improvisation Category. 2nd Year students,  Ryan Baker and Cormac Kelly brought the house down with their farcical piece Skungpoomery, claiming 3rd prize in the Under 16 Duologue Category. Congratulations!
