Teaching & Learning
Teachers at Stratford College embrace new developments within education theory, undertake continuous professional development and use digital technology within their classes.
This approach delivers strong academic results - an overwhelming majority of our students attend third level education. Importantly, by encouraging self-directed learning and participation, students develop the skills required for success in further education and for life.
“Features of exemplary practice were noted in many lessons… In such cases teachers prioritised the junior cycle key skills of managing information and working with others through purposeful and progressive tasks.” - Department of Education & Skills, Whole School Evaluation 2014
Health & Wellbeing
Well Being Education is supported via the curriculum in our Well Being Programmes for Junior & Senior Cycles.
Whole School Inclusion, Whole School Guidance, Our Code of Positive Behaviour and the Student Support Team further support this important area.
The Student Support Team (SST) is guided in its work by these student welfare polices in support the learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs of students.
The core SST meets once a fortnight. It is comprised of the Principal, our Special Needs Co- ordinator and Learning Support teacher.
The Parents Association works alongside the school to promote and support Well Being Information for Parents.
