FÉILTE, the Festival of Education in Learning and Teaching Excellence, is a celebration of teaching where teachers showcase their work in leading innovative learning in schools.

Earlier this month the Teaching Council invited registered teachers to apply to showcase their work at FÉILTE 2015, on Saturday 3rd October 2015 in the RDS, Dublin. FÉILTE, the Festival of Education in Learning and Teaching Excellence, is a celebration of teaching where teachers showcase their work in leading innovative learning in schools. Now in its third year, the day provides a platform for teachers to share their stories of innovation with each other and the public.

Ms Reynolds and Ms Byrne have successfully submitted the 2nd year Media Studies module which sees Stratford students engage in multi-modal learning by creating a product or service which related to the key skill of 'staying well'; developing a brand, logo, slogan and marketing strategy; script, storyboard, recording and editing a TV advert to be presented or 'pitched' to the class; and finally writing a report of their individual and group experience.

We have also invited Laura Fitzgerald of Chemistry and Jake Walshe, the President at The Institute of Creative Advertising and Design, Company Director of Screen Scene and a past pupil of Stratford College to visit Stratford for a screening of the adverts, followed by a short Q and A.

We are thrilled that the module and the work produced by the 2nd year English class will now be showcased at the FÉILTE Festival in October.
