Can schools promote global competence?
Schools play a crucial role in helping young people to develop global competence by:
* providing opportunities to learn about global developments;The Department of Education and Skills asked all schools to consult with staff, parents and students on the use of Mobile Devices in school. The use of smart phones in schools will be included as an item requiring consultation under the Education (Parent and Student Charter) Bill 2016.

Wellbeing is weaving through life at Stratford College. Students engage in various aspects of wellbeing, including social in areas such as SPHE, Guidance & CSPE; curriculum activities encourage themes such as ‘managing myself’, ‘being active’ and ‘resilient’; physical through PE with emphasis on the importance of exercise and nutrition, emotional with the practice of ‘mindfulness’ and feeling connected.

World Book Day 2019 in Stratford College kicked off with high-powered fruit juices and smoothies made on the spot by the TYs, while students, staff and parents browsed the many, many books in the book sale. Student, staff and parents were actively encouraged to bring in two books and €2 to make it the best book sale and 'booky breakfast' ever! And it was - we raised €180 for St. Michael's House. The juices and smoothies were also awesome!
