As part of World Book Day, TY organised a book sale in aid of St. Michael's House for the whole school. Approximately €60 was raised. There was also a 'guess-the-shelfie' quiz - a selection of teacher and student book shelves - and various quizzes both in the Library and at form time.
At lunch time there was a reading flash mob where 30 students in the school read King Lir as part of a flash mob to herald the start of Seachtain na Gaeilge. It was a really fun and well organised day. See the 2014-15 Web Gallery for more photos as World Book Day 2015 coincided with Purim and the Student Council's dress up day!

For the World Book Day Award, Stratford College answered the competition's question - 'why we can't live without books' - by putting together a slideshow. See the blog which contains the video!
Well done to the 6th Year students who won the Form Time quiz. Each year group is pitted against each other to see who can get the best average of correct answers, in the fastest time. This year the quiz was inspired by the Reader's Digest 'Word Power' challenges.
The 6th Years swept the boards in the other World Book Day quizzes. Sadhbh Charles, Ruth Somers and Kara Stein got all 10 correct 'shelfie' pictures, with 5th Year student Nicole Lawlor coming second with 8. Ethan Brady-Arnold, Ciara Harrison and Sean Lysaght got the most correct '4 covers 1 book' answers.
Fun, awe and amazement was also had in the Reading Room with students playing the piano by pressing the World Book Day letters drawn in pencil on a piece of paper by Moya Richardson McCrea. How did this magic happen? By the power of MaKey MaKey!
Launched on World Book Day and on display throughout March, were original Smash Hits music magazines from the mid-1980s. See the original haircuts, lyrics and glo-colour shirts in all their glory!
