The TY students organised an extremely successful book sale in aid of St. Michael's House to start off events for World Book Day. The TY students organised an extremely successful book sale in aid of St. Michael's House to start off events for World Book Day. The TY Library prefects had asked all students and teachers to bring in at least one book to donate to the book sale. Music was organised by Geordan Sheridan O'Brien, the screen was set up to show the World Book Day website and everyone could buy 3 books for €2! The Library prefects wore specially bought t-shirts and we were also very proud that our entry for the World Book Day Award had been listed as "some of our other favourites" from all the entries from all around the UK and Ireland. €139 was raised - 50% for the school Library and 50% for charity.

Throughout the rest of the morning there were poster quizzes in the library and around the school - the winners getting signed copies of Mr. Conaghan's latest book "The bombs that brought us together". Last year Mr. Conaghan was nominated to the short list for the Carnegie Medal with his book "When Mr. Dog Bites".

At form time, each year took part in the World Book Day Bumper Quiz - pitted against each other.  6th Year and 2nd Year came joint first! Competition was intense!

Thanks to the TY Library prefects for all their work - Gina Cohen, Lara McGuinness, Julia Tatar Concado, Ryan Baker and Cormac Kelly.
