NEWS / 7 September 2011

Earlier this summer, the Stratford College Music Group wowed the audience when they showcased all their songs in a concert held in Music Maker. Members of the music group, Olivia Bagnall (6th Year) and Robert Downes (6th Year) recount the night.

Stratford College Music MakerIn late June, the Stratford College Music Group performed all the work they had done during the year, in Music Maker, on Exchequer Street. Highlights of the night included Robert Downes' (6th Year) performance of Lilac Wine by Jeff Buckley and the opening Guns 'n Roses song, Sweet Child of Mine. The music group were accompanied by Shelley Bukspan and her fellow band-member, Dave, Turlough Eccles (3rd Year) on harp, and Alex Lai (6th Year) and Jake Regan (5th Year) on guitar

Ms. Reynolds said afterwards that,  "Robert's performance actually made me cry, he might as well have been Jeff Buckley performing Hallelujah. Jake Regan did a very impressive Bob Dylan".

Stratford College Music Group practice commenced on Friday, 2nd September at 1.15pm in the Hall and will continue every Friday this term. (Click on thumbnails to open an enlarged version of photo.)
