Welcoming New Faces
In December, the Student Council elections brought in fresh energy, with new members joining the team and a new group of prefects being chosen. These student leaders have been working closely together to represent and support their peers.
Student Voice & Focus Groups
To ensure that students’ voices are heard, we held focus groups to discuss issues that matter most. 3 groups with one student from each year, facilitated by a prefect and a student council member , were taken place in the hall. The feedback has been valuable in helping the council decide what to prioritize and work on for the rest of the year.
Well-Being Initiatives
Junior Games Day – After their Junior Cert mocks, younger students had a chance to unwind with games and team-building exercises, giving them a well-deserved break.
6th Year Coffee Morning – Following the Leaving Cert mocks, 6th years were treated to a relaxing coffee morning, giving them a moment to de-stress and recharge.
Valentine’s Day: Random Acts of Kindness – To spread positivity, every student and staff member received a kind message along with some sweet treats!
Addressing Student Issues
At the 3rd-year assembly, the Student Council and prefects spoke about important topics, including the issue of vaping and their future plans for making the school a better place for all students.
Recognizing Leadership
To highlight the role of student leaders in school life, badges were awarded to all Student Council members, prefects, and Green Schools representatives. This serves as a reminder of the vital contributions they make to the school community every day.
These past few months have been a fantastic start to 2025, and we’re looking forward to even more exciting initiatives in the months ahead. Thank you to all students and staff for your support – together, we can continue to make our school a better place for everyone!
