NEWS / 15 December 2020

On the first week of December, from the 7th to the 11th the school celebrated Mitzvah week. Every year, we have an annual Mitzvah Box collection, where we collect non-perishable food donations from each class group and donate to charities such as Focus Ireland.

A “mitzvah” is a Hebrew word means a good deed done by a person, and there are 613 central “mitzvot” that can be done in Jewish law. Usually, each class group would bring in products to donate to charities, but this year we had to change things because of the pandemic. Instead, we asked students to purchase food vouchers from local supermarkets, which we collected on Wednesday, December 9th. Overall, we are very happy with the efforts of students and teachers and we would like to thank you for your generosity. The photo shows some of the vouchers collected by the 1st years - approximately €1000 was collected in food vouchers.
