On Monday, 10th October, Mr Priestley and eight 1st Year students - Stratford's first Futsal squad - entered a tournament organised by the FAI.

At the beginning of October, eight students from first year formed Stratford College’s first Futsal squad to enter FAI competition. They competed at St Catherine’s Sports Centre against teams from Drimnagh, Synge Street and Ringsend in the south Dublin regional tournament.

The tournament took place as a league format, with 5-a-side games of eight minutes deciding which two teams would play-off to progress to the next round.

The Stratford side battled hard and gave a good account of themselves but did not qualify from this stage. Their attitude and will to compete was in evidence as they came close on several occasions against strong opposition.
Ultimately, the players are eager to improve and aim one day to represent south Dublin in regional competition.
