Finn Keyes, Masters in Law - UCL, contributed his memories of Stratford for the 60th Anniversary book, '60 Years A Growing', which was launched in November 2014.
I left Stratford in 2010 and owe the school a debt not just for propelling me into an excellent further education but more importantly for the great interest and passion the various teachers instilled in me for a diversity of subjects, particularly Classics and English Literature. Special mention has to go to the teachers of those two subjects Ms Donohoe and Ms Reynolds; any student who passes through Stratford cannot help but be struck by the great energy and enthusiasm, perhaps even religious fervour in the case of Ms Donohoe, they bring to bear on their subject.
Upon graduation I took up a place studying Law at Trinity College, Dublin which I absolutely loved. In my third year of college, I got an exchange place at a U.S Law School in Atlanta, Georgia where I also worked a part-time internship at the American Civil Liberties Union, an organization I first became interested in while researching my history project at Stratford. I returned to complete my degree earlier this year and I have now moved to London to take a Masters Degree at University College, London focusing on Legal Theory and Public Law.
Hereafter the path splinters considerably but my broad intention is to work in the area of Medical Law and perhaps at a later stage, when I am more able to afford it, to go to the King’s Inns and take the Bar. A Law Degree is a far more versatile one than most imagine and opens up doors to careers in Government, Public Policy, Ethics as well as the various areas of law itself and I can happily recommend it to anyone. I wish everyone the best of luck in pursuing whatever opportunities come before you, now and in the future.

The 1st years completed a zombie lab today where they used their scientific methods and thinking to identify patient zero from the zombie suspects. Using measuring skills, pH, observation skills and much more they successfully identified the source of the outbreak!

The TY Horticulture class were out in the Autumn sunshine planting Spring bulbs using the chaos planting method. This is when a multitude of different spring bulbs (Hyacinths, Daffodils, Tulips, Crocuses, Narcissi) are mixed together and randomly planted so that we have a mixture of flowers and patterns emerging in the spring. It mimics nature and so is more enticing to pollinators and native insects that need the food in Spring.
Stratford is celebrating Maths Week 2026 (12th - 18th October) with daily activities around the school, at breaktimes and in Maths classes! The tutor-time daily quiz is proving to be extremely competitive as each form group tries to solve it and then run to find Ms Matthews in order to win the box of chocolates!
