Every Wednesday after school, the twenty eight members of the running club jog to Bushy Park (one and a quarter miles) as a warm-up. There we run up the steep hill seven times. Next week we plan to do eight. As an active recovery we do push-ups, sit-ups, abs work and other work outs. Then we start to jog around the park. One lap consists of a mile, and everyone runs at least two laps. Some people run three and next week, will aim to run four. Finally, we run back to the school. All in all, we’d run from four and a half miles (over seven kilometres) to five and a half miles (almost nine kilometres). We return with bright red faces, laughing. Everyone really enjoys themselves while still exercising. (Click on thumbnails to open an enlarged version of photo. ))
