Sarah Epstein represents Ireland at recent ORT Future Leaders Programme

NEWS / 18 May 2011

Sarah Epstein (TY) describes the week-long ORT programme she attended in London in April.

ORTORT is an international organisation and they run a Future Leaders Programme. Loads of Jewish people from all over Europe sent in applications and only 30 people were chosen to be a part of this programme. Upon arrival at the airport a few others girls from the Ukraine and myself were met by a lady that works for ORT and she took us to the hostel where we were staying. There we met the other 24 people who were chosen. We sat in a circle and were told to say our name and where we are from and it was amazing to meet all these new and very different people from places such as the Ukraine, Russia, Croatia, Serbia, Belarus, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, England, Germany, Latvia and Lithuania. Throughout the week we met so many interesting people and learnt so much. Now in August the organisation is taking us to Israel for three weeks for the second part of the programme and I am so excited.
