Sarah Epstein (TY) describes the week-long ORT programme she attended in London in April.
ORT is an international organisation and they run a Future Leaders Programme. Loads of Jewish people from all over Europe sent in applications and only 30 people were chosen to be a part of this programme. Upon arrival at the airport a few others girls from the Ukraine and myself were met by a lady that works for ORT and she took us to the hostel where we were staying. There we met the other 24 people who were chosen. We sat in a circle and were told to say our name and where we are from and it was amazing to meet all these new and very different people from places such as the Ukraine, Russia, Croatia, Serbia, Belarus, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, England, Germany, Latvia and Lithuania. Throughout the week we met so many interesting people and learnt so much. Now in August the organisation is taking us to Israel for three weeks for the second part of the programme and I am so excited.

The 1st years completed a zombie lab today where they used their scientific methods and thinking to identify patient zero from the zombie suspects. Using measuring skills, pH, observation skills and much more they successfully identified the source of the outbreak!

The TY Horticulture class were out in the Autumn sunshine planting Spring bulbs using the chaos planting method. This is when a multitude of different spring bulbs (Hyacinths, Daffodils, Tulips, Crocuses, Narcissi) are mixed together and randomly planted so that we have a mixture of flowers and patterns emerging in the spring. It mimics nature and so is more enticing to pollinators and native insects that need the food in Spring.
Stratford is celebrating Maths Week 2026 (12th - 18th October) with daily activities around the school, at breaktimes and in Maths classes! The tutor-time daily quiz is proving to be extremely competitive as each form group tries to solve it and then run to find Ms Matthews in order to win the box of chocolates!
